The Country Club of Louisiana is the culmination of all Jack Nicklaus has learned in his 36-year commitment to golf – beautiful lakes, giant oaks, and a spectacular bluff. Anything that Nicklaus was associated with was of a very high-quality nature, the natural ingredients of a world class golf course and the setting for a world class country club community. In creating the golf course, Nicklaus took meticulous care to see that the environmental integrity of the land was preserved, saving as many trees as possible and in creating the impression that the fairways winding through his courses had existed forever. CCLA is also proud to be one of Jack Nicklaus’s first signature golf courses.

In 2012, CCLA’s newly redesigned golf course was opened to our members after several months of construction and renovation. As part of the project, CCLA replaced its Champion greens with MiniVerde Bermuda grass promoting a better putting surface. Greenside bunkers had been overhauled with a new bunker fabric and the sand was replaced with crushed quartz. The original 7,000 square-foot practice green was upgraded and expanded by 3,000 square feet. These vast improvements have permitted CCLA to be ranked #1 in Louisiana by Golf Digest in 2014 and 2015.

The name Nicklaus has long been associated with greatness on the golf course. The 18 professional major championships, the electrifying finishes, the sheer will to win; Jack's achievements are legendary.
