Mickey Matran – Director of Instruction
Mickey joined the golf professional staff at The Country Club of Louisiana in February of 2002. He is a native of Louisiana and attended LSU. Prior to graduating LSU he left for Florida to pursue a golf career and earned an Associate Degree in Golf Complex Management from The Golf Academy of the South. While in Florida, Mickey worked (4 years) for Arnold Palmer at his winter home, The Bay Hill Club, host to the annual PGA Tour stop The Bay Hill Invitational. Before arriving to CCLA, Mickey spent two years on the professional staff at the nationally recognized Olympic Club. The Olympic Club has hosted four US Open Championships, two PGA Tour Championships and several other major championships located in San Francisco, Ca.
Mickey was promoted to The Director of Instruction in June of 2007. He has concentrated his education on teaching and tournament operations. Elected to PGA Membership (Class A) in July of 2002, Mickey honed his teaching skills working for several years with Top 100 instructors, professionals, accomplished amateurs and beginners. His goal is to help make CCLA an unmatched facility for “Golf Instruction” and “Club fitting”. As well as teaching, Mickey has also competed in numerous professional golf tournaments and participated in several Pro-Ams and Celebrity-Pro-Ams.
